Garage foundation

So here's the crew framing the foundation of the garage. It was to have been poured yesterday.... Miles also talked to the framer, who's working on another house right now but he said he will be working on ours, by the first week of July and going hard-core, so we should start to see some progress then!

Good News!

Miles talked to the builder today & it sounds like we should be in on schedule, which is on or before October 15th! Yay! Lets hope things go as planned :)

We have a floor... a street sign and a delay....

The house is moving along but Miles was talking to the framer this week and he said that he had a couple other houses that had to be finished up before returning back to ours, which could be a delay of 2-3 weeks. Not what impatient home builders wanna hear but hopefully it'll go quickly when he does come back! The next step will be backfilling the basment hole and constructing the foundations for the garage. We also got a street sign so that was exciting :)

Slowly moving along...

Last week, we got some footings, pipes & gravel... but it kinda stayed at this stage all week. Miles was out there today & the gravel has finally been spread around, so maybe something new is about to take place! On Friday, we took advantage of our babysitter not having school & booked her for a few hours, while we picked out all our plumbing fixtures (taps, sinks, toilets, towel holders... you name it), followed by a complimentary appointment with an interior designer, where we picked out carpet, tile, paint colours etc! Very fun!

Happy Mother's Day! You can't imagine how thrilled we were to drive out to our lot today & discover that they had DUG THE BASEMENT! We are officially starting the whole building process! Yay! The boys had fun getting dirty, and as you can see Miles had some fun too! This will be the only time that the truck goes in the basement!!! Stay tuned for more progress! I think we came to a conclusion on hardwood and rock today too (the Teton Soft Rock)
